LiFT: Tell us about your book, the journey of writing it and its content.

Sujata Sharma: I have been writing since my school days. My writings have covered various topics ranging from man made calamities to human emotions described as and when experienced. I always wanted to publish my works but since I did not know how to do it I am a bit late in the literary world but as they say, something near the better!

LiFT: Why you chose this title?

Sujata Sharma: Romance and love has somehow always captivated human imagination and hence the title!

LiFT: When did you realize that you want to be a poet and what’s your inspiration behind it?

Sujata Sharma: I wanted to be someone who is known and idolised since childhood. Somehow writing came naturally to me and hence this was the only way I knew that could bring some fame to me or make me known. Hence I decided to publish my works finally!

LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?

Sujata Sharma: Ten years down the line I may publish another book of poems in Hindi. I also aspire to write and publsih a financial thriller in the coming years!

LiFT: How much do you think marketing or quality of a book is necessary to promote a particular book and increase its readers?

Sujata Sharma: They say, “Don’t judge a book by its cover!” Yet to be accepted and read by your readers you need to present your works well. The cover of a book should captivate and entice its readers to open and check the book out! Title and cover of a book are the jewels that make a book more noteworthy and eye-catching or noticeable. So marketing and quality of a book are necessary tools to promote it and increase the readership.

LiFT: What is the message you want to spread among folks with your writings?

Sujata Sharma: My poems have woven the message of perseverance and indomitable spirit! One can get through any circumstances and life itself only through strong willpower and concentration. So I wish all my readers to be fearless and brave in the face of journey called life!

LiFT: What do you do apart from writing?

Sujata Sharma: I am working with a PSB. Other than this I take care of family . I am also a fitness freak- a trait that I have picked up from my husband.

LiFT: What are the activities you resort to when you face a writer’s block?

Sujata Sharma: I learn from my fellow authors. I love to read fellow authors not just to encourage them but also to learn from the varied styles of writings.

LiFT: Are you working on your next book? If yes, please tell us something about it.

Sujata Sharma: Yeah, I am working on my next book. It’s too early to reveal something about it. But it’s about a girl with difficult childhood and how she makes it despite being mistreated and misunderstood by many.

LiFT: What are your suggestions to the budding writers/poets so that they could improve their writing skills?

Sujata Sharma: I would suggest new writers to read, read and read! That’s the best way you can learnt how to write!
