LiFT: Tell us about your book, the journey of writing it and its content.

Jayanthi Bommana: “Soul Easy Vegan Recipes” is my heartfelt attempt to share the joys and benefits of a plant-based lifestyle. Writing this book has been a beautiful journey of self-discovery and a way to connect with others who are interested in holistic living.

The book contains easy-to-follow vegan recipes that use simple, wholesome ingredients. Each dish is designed to nourish not just the body but also the mind and soul. Along with the recipes, I’ve included insightful articles on the principles of mindful eating and cooking.

LiFT: Why you chose this title?

Jayanthi Bommana: I chose the title “Soul Easy Vegan Recipes” because I believe that food is more than just fuel for the body. When we cook and eat with intention and awareness, we feed our souls as well. The word “easy” in the title reflects my aim to make plant-based cooking accessible and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of their cooking skills or experience.

LiFT: When did you realize that you want to be a writer and what’s your inspiration behind it?

Jayanthi Bommana: My journey as a writer began when I started sharing my experiences and insights on holistic living with others. Seeing how my words resonated with people and helped them make positive changes in their lives inspired me to write more.

I realized that writing is a powerful tool for sharing knowledge, spreading compassion, and connecting with like-minded individuals. My inspiration comes from the desire to contribute to a more conscious and compassionate world.

LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?

Jayanthi Bommana: Ten years from now, I see myself continuing to write books that inspire and empower people to live more mindfully and compassionately. I hope to have a body of work that encompasses various aspects of holistic living, from plant-based nutrition to yoga, meditation, and self-discovery.

My goal is to create a community of readers who are passionate about personal growth and making a positive impact on the world.

LiFT: How much do you think marketing or quality of a book is necessary to promote a particular book and increase its readers?

Jayanthi Bommana: Both marketing and quality are essential for a book’s success. A well-written, informative, and engaging book is more likely to resonate with readers and generate positive word-of-mouth. Quality should always be the top priority.

However, even the best book may struggle to find its audience without effective marketing. Marketing helps create awareness, reach the right readers, and communicate the book’s value. A balanced approach that focuses on both quality and strategic marketing is necessary to promote a book and increase its readership.

LiFT: What is the message you want to spread among folks with your writings?

Jayanthi Bommana: Through my writings, I want to spread the message of compassion, mindfulness, and the power of personal choices. I believe that by aligning our daily actions with our deepest values, we can create a more peaceful and sustainable world.

My message is that small changes, like adopting a plant-based lifestyle or practicing mindfulness, can have a profound impact on our well-being and the well-being of the planet. I hope to inspire others to live more consciously and compassionately.

LiFT: What do you do apart from writing?

Jayanthi Bommana: Apart from writing, I am a certified yoga instructor and plant-based nutritional mentor. I founded Aanandham, a platform where I offer life transformation courses and workshops on holistic living.

I am passionate about helping people connect with their inner selves and discover the joy of living in harmony with nature. When I’m not writing or teaching, you can find me experimenting in the kitchen, tending to my garden, or spending time with my loved ones.

LiFT: What are the activities you resort to when you face a writer’s block?

Jayanthi Bommana: When faced with writer’s block, I find that stepping away from my desk and engaging in mindful activities helps me reconnect with my creativity. Some of my go-to activities include practicing yoga, taking a walk in nature, or cooking a nourishing meal.

These activities help me clear my mind, release stress, and gain fresh perspectives. I also find that journaling or free-writing can help me overcome writer’s block by allowing me to express my thoughts and emotions without judgment.

LiFT: Are you working on your next book? If yes, please tell us something about it.

Jayanthi Bommana: Yes, I am currently working on my next vegan recipes book, which delves deeper into the connection between food, and festivals. In this book, I explore how our festivals across India chooses ingredients based on scientific reasons to soothe not only our mind, body & soul but also our emotional and spiritual well-being.

It’s an exciting project, and I can’t wait to share it with readers.

LiFT: What are your suggestions to the budding writers/poets so that they could improve their writing skills?

Jayanthi Bommana: My suggestion to budding writers and poets is to read widely, write regularly, and stay true to their unique voice. Read books from various genres and styles to expand your literary horizons and learn from different writers.

Establish a consistent writing practice, even if it’s just for a few minutes each day. This will help you develop your skills and find your writing rhythm. Most importantly, don’t be afraid to express yourself authentically. Your experiences, perspectives, and emotions are what make your writing unique and valuable.

Embrace the journey of self-discovery through writing, and trust that your words have the power to touch and inspire others.
