About Rabani Singh
Meet Rabani, a powerhouse nine-year-old from Chandigarh! Currently in the fourth standard, she crushes it in her favorite subjects, English and Social Studies. Rabani is a girl of many talents: she plays hockey and cricket, skates, draws her own comic strips, writes poetry, creates amazing DIY projects and paints. On weekends, you can find her gaming, dancing, or making music at her church, where she sings and plays the keyboard, ukulele, and clap box. She wishes to be a painting artist, hockey player, and a musician when she grows up. Look out for Rabani, because this future hockey-playing artist is just getting started!
LiFT: Tell us about the theme of the anthology and how did you get to know about it?
Rabani Singh: This anthology explores unspoken thoughts, emotions, and stories that, once written, reveal profound truths. It offers writers a platform to express these hidden sentiments for readers to cherish and ponder. I learned of this anthology through my mother, Mrs. Parinita Singh, and my maternal grandmother, Mrs. Shahneez Qadir, who have been long-time contributors to Damick.
LiFT: What inspired you to write for this particular anthology?
Rabani Singh: Inspired by my mother and maternal grandmother, both accomplished poets and short-story writers, I was encouraged to pursue writing. They advised me to start with poetry and then move on to short stories. I aspire to Imitate their impressive literary achievements.
LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?
Rabani Singh: I see myself creating various joyful literary works, including poems, short stories, comics, and even a full-length book. My preferred genres are comedy and anime, as well as children’s literature. I also enjoy crafting children’s comic strips and aspire to produce an entire comic book.
LiFT: What do you do apart from writing?
Rabani Singh: I’m a musician who plays keyboard, ukulele, and cajon drum, and I also sing. My hobbies include reading comic books, drawing, painting, DIY projects, science experiments with my parents, and gaming. I love making small hand-made cards and gifts for my parents, friends, and grandparents as well.
LiFT: Are you working on your own book? If yes, please tell us something about it.
Rabani Singh: Not yet, but I aspire to do so some day soon.
LiFT: What are your suggestions to the budding writers/poets so that they could improve their writing skills?
Rabani Singh: Create stories and poems that are optimistic, fun, humorous, and joyful, uplifting readers and filling them with laughter. Even sad tales should conclude with a happy ending.
