LiFT: Tell us about your book, the journey of writing it, and its content.
Chitkala Mulye: Sachi is a soulful tale of love, healing, and self-discovery. Inspired by my own struggles, healing, and awakening — along with real case studies from my coaching — the story follows a woman whose life changes when she falls in love with a man who unknowingly awakens her deepest truth. Through this connection, she begins a journey of releasing fear, embracing self-worth, and opening to unconditional love. The story flowed effortlessly — I completed the manuscript in two months on my phone. *Sachi* is more than a novel; it’s a mirror for anyone seeking their authentic self.
LiFT: Why did you choose this title?
Chitkala Mulye: I chose the title Sachi because it means “truthful” — and this story is ultimately about embracing one’s truth. The name perfectly reflects the protagonist’s journey of peeling away layers of fear, conditioning, and self-doubt to rediscover her authentic self. It’s simple, soulful, and carries the essence of what the book is all about: truth, love, and inner awakening.
LiFT: When did you realize that you wanted to be a writer/poet, and what was your inspiration behind it?
Chitkala Mulye: I’ve wanted to be a writer since childhood. I wrote my first story — a drama — in 4th standard, and my first poem in 7th. Stories have always lived in my mind, waiting to be expressed. I wrote my first novel when I started my coaching journey at 26, inspired by the idea of love that goes beyond boundaries — a concept close to my heart. Writing became a way to give voice to the emotional truths I was living and helping others uncover.
LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?
Chitkala Mulye: Ten years down the line, I see myself as a storyteller whose words awaken, heal, and transform. Through my books, I want to help people develop self-awareness, nurture themselves, and experience the power of unconditional love. My stories are not just narratives — they’re invitations to discover one’s authentic self, to heal, and to build conscious, empowered connections with oneself and the world. I envision creating a body of work that leaves a soulful imprint — guiding people back home to who they truly are.
LiFT: How important do you think marketing and the quality of a book are in promoting it and increasing its readership?
Chitkala Mulye: Both marketing and the quality of the book play crucial roles in increasing readership — but in different ways. A powerful, well-written book creates impact and builds lasting trust with readers. But without marketing, even the most meaningful stories can remain undiscovered. Marketing is what draws attention; quality is what builds connection and loyalty. To truly grow readership, I believe it’s important to honour both — reach the right people, and then let the depth of the work speak for itself.
LiFT: What message do you want to convey to people through your writing?
Chitkala Mulye: Through my writing, I wish to inspire self-nurturing, unconditional love, and the courage to embrace life’s flow. My stories carry lessons from real journeys — reminding readers that every challenge is a doorway to healing, self-discovery, and deeper connection. I want my words to be a gentle mirror that helps people grow with compassion, not pressure — and find the strength to live their truth with grace.
LiFT: What do you do apart from writing?
Chitkala Mulye: Apart from writing, I’m a Life, Relationship, and Intimacy Coach, guiding individuals through self-awareness, emotional healing, and conscious connection. I lead soulful workshops and transformational journeys under my community ‘Chitkala – The Art of Consciousness.’ My work blends embodiment, storytelling, and deep inner work. In my personal time, I enjoy painting, reading, singing, and exploring sound therapy. I love animals and enjoy spending time with street dogs and cats and my pet cats too. I’ve also recently begun learning martial arts, which is helping me connect with discipline and presence in a new way.
LiFT: What activities do you resort to when you face writer’s block?
Chitkala Mulye: I go for a nature walk, I meditate and I journal.
LiFT: What if your story were to be adapted into a movie? Who would you want to work as the director or actors in it?
Chitkala Mulye: Ayan Mukherjee director, Radhika Apte and Akshay Kumar would be apt for these characters.
LiFT: Are you working on your next book? If so, could you tell us something about it?
Chitkala Mulye: It would be a sequel of this book.
LiFT: What are your suggestions for budding writers and poets to help them improve their writing skills?
Chitkala Mulye: Writing is about letting your heart pour out in an authentic flow. Language is just a medium. When thoughts and emotions rise with power, the flow takes over. Just stay with it.
