LiFT: Tell us about your book, the journey of writing it and its content.
Bitumani Borah: I believe that poetry has the extraordinary power to touch our hearts. I am a busy corporate professional, but I do like to write creative content. Poetry is the best way to express my feelings in few words but greater impact. ‘Soulful Connections’ is a celebration of the connections that shape our lives and a reminder that we can find strength and beauty even in the most trying times. While we experience life day to day, giving it a poetic expression was my aim and hence I wrote down a poetry book autobiography.
LiFT: Why you chose this title?
Bitumani Borah: I wanted a title that resonates with the poems written by me. Hence this title.
LiFT: When did you realize that you want to be a poet and what’s your inspiration behind it?
Bitumani Borah: I used to write when I was a school girl. But I stopped writing as life happened.
I started writing last year again after winning a scientific poetry competition and motivation from my best friend.
LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?
Bitumani Borah: I see myself publishing couple of more books and establish myself as an author.
LiFT: How much do you think marketing or quality of a book is necessary to promote a particular book and increase its readers?
Bitumani Borah: I think the content should be good and being a new author, it is very difficult to tell people to read the book. People should give chance to new writers and there must be platforms where new writers like us get an opportunity to present our work
LiFT: What is the message you want to spread among folks with your writings?
Bitumani Borah: Writing is a beautiful tool to overcome any problems in life. If used properly, it can bring a lot of peace and positivity in one’s life.
