Bali Itinerary for 9 Days: Complete Travel Guide to Bali

BALI Itinerary

Bali is an Indonesian Island famous for its beaches, nightlife, water sports activities, temples, active volcano mountains and beautiful picture spots. You name it and Bali has it. I would call it a perfect destination for a choosy tourist. Whether you are planning a Honeymoon trip to Bali or a Solo trip to Bali, you will not be disappointed at all. After a month of research, I have made a perfect Bali Itinerary for 9 Days. Here I am sharing it with you.

Bali Itinerary (9 Days, Including Landing and Take-off Days).

Day 0: Day of Departure from your City

– Web Check in to your Flights 24 hours – 30 minutes before your flight departure.

– Leave Home early so that you can reach the Airport at least 4 hours before your flight departure.

Day 01: Arrival

Arrival at Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport.

– Drive to Hotel in Kuta.

– Hop at Kuta Beach in evening.

– Visit Kuta Night Market (Open 6 PM onwards).

– Have Dinner and Back to Hotel.

Special Advice: Use Gojek Cars for Airport to Hotel Transfers and local transfers in Kuta area, it is cheap and convenient). Download and register yourself on Gojek app before you leave your country for Bali. Transfers through Klook app are expensive.

For dinner, must checkout restaurants at Kartika Plaza area.

Things to Do:

  • Buy a Local Sim Card (Make sure it has internet pack) Rs. 700-800 for a week. You can also book a sim card from Klook App. The Klook representative will deliver you the sim at Denpasar Airport upon your arrival. Do check the internet balance before you leave the airport.
  • Choose and Book Water Sports Activities and Uluwatu Temple Kecak Dance Show Tickets from Klook. Water Sports Activities are expensive if bought directly through the organisers.

Day 02: Nusa Dua

Advised wakeup time 7 AM.

– Visit Tenjung Benoa Beach and Head out for Water Sports Activities (Open 9AM – 4PM).

– Visit Nusa Dua Beach & Water Blow (Nusa Dua is one of the cleanest beaches in Nusa Dua area).

– Visit Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park (Not Necessary, Open 8AM – 10PM).

– Visit Padang Padang Beach or Suluban Cave Beach. You can also visit Karma Beach if you do not mind spending money for drinks.

– Spend Time at Uluwatu Temple (Open 7AM – 7PM).

– Must See Kecak Dance at Uluwatu Temple (Starts at 6 PM every day).

– Visit Jimbaran Beach for Dinner if you love sea food. If you are a vegetarian – have dinner at Ganesha Ek Sanskriti or Kailash Parbat and enjoy the daily singing show outside Lippo Mall.

– Back to Hotel in Kuta for a good night sleep.

Special Advice: Karma Beach is not free. You will have to pay to enter or buy drinks.

Things to Do:

  • Book Fast Boat from Sanur to Nusa Penida & Back from Klook. Boats are expensive if bought directly through the organisers.

Day 03: Nusa Penida

Advised wakeup time 5 AM.

– Reach Sanur Harbour and Board a Boat at 8:00AM or 8:30AM to Nusa Penida.

– Visit Paluang Cliff (Near Kelingkling Beach. This place has photo spots for your Instagram feed).

– Visit Kelingkling Beach (Do not get down to the beach if you want to visit the other two places and get on the boat back to Sanur on time).

– Visit Broken Beach & Angel’s Billabong.

– Visit Crystal Bay.

– Board a Boat to Sanur at 4:00PM or 4:30PM.

– Enjoy your dinner in Kuta and Back to Hotel.

Special Advice: Hire a cab for the day from the Nusa Penida Harbour as driving a scooter in Nusa Penida maybe risky for you.

If you plan to stay in Nuda Penida overnight and add one more day to your Bali Itinerary, the next day you must visit Diamond Beach and Tree House near the diamond beach. If you are a pure vegetarian, please avoid overnight stay in Nusa Penida until you have your ready to eat food with you.

Things to Do:

  • Book a Taxi from Kuta for the whole next day. This can be done through the Hotel or Klook App.

Day 04: Ubud Central

Advised wakeup time 7 AM. Checkout from Hotel in Kuta.

Explore following places:

– Tegenuganga Waterfall (Open 6:30AM – 6:30PM, Not Necessary).

– Bali Swing (Open 8AM – 5PM). Recommended Places for Bali Swing: Alas Harum or Aloha Ubud Swing).

– Campuhan Ridge Walk (Not Necessary, it is similar to other rice terraces).

– Sacred Monkey Forest (Open 9AM – 5PM, Not Necessary if you do not like too many monkeys around you). This is famous for Monkey Selfie.

– Saraswati Temple (Open 5AM – 10PM).

– Explore Ubud Art Village (Not Necessary, if you have visited Kuta Night Market).

– Ubud Palace (Open 7AM to 7PM).

Check in at Hotel in Ubud after Full Day Trip.

Things to Do:

  • Hire a Cab for Next 4 Days.

Day 05: East Bali

Advised wakeup time 5AM.

Visit the following places:

– Gates of Heaven (Lempuyang Temple) (Open 9AM – 6PM).

– Tirta Gangga (Open 8AM – 5PM).

– Besakih Temple (Open 8AM – 6PM).

– Tukad Cepung Waterfall (Open 7AM – 6PM).

Special Advice: The tickets price to Besakih Temple includes tour guide and free sarong. Do not fall into trap of sarong rental shops and tour guides demanding extra money.

Day 06: North Bali

Advised wakeup time 7AM.

Explore following places.

– Ulun Danu Beratan Temple (Open 7AM to 7PM) (Visit Lake Beratan on Boat if have time).

– Handara Gate – Famous for Instagram Pictures.

– Git Git Waterfall – Twin Waterfall.

– Sekumpul Waterfall (Open 8AM – 5PM, Not Necessary).

– Lovina Beach – Black Sand Beach if you love watching dolphins. (Not Necessary).

– Leke Leke Waterfall (It’s on your way back to the hotel. Not Necessary).

Special Advice: The tickets price to Git Git Waterfall includes tour guide. Do not fall into trap of tour guides demanding extra money. Prefer going without a tour guide.

Day 07: Ubud Central

Advised wakeup time 1 AM.

Explore following places:

– Mount Batur (24 Hours) (Sunrise Trekking at 2 am 6 km. Estimates Cost INR 2300 per person).

– Batur Lake (24 Hours). Famous for Hot Water Spring.

– Pura Tirta Empul – This temple is known for soul cleansing bath. Carry extra pair of clothes and do take a dip in the holy water of this temple (Open 8AM – 6PM).

Special Advice: The tickets price for Hot Water Springs are cheaper on Klook. You will end up paying double price if you visit directly to the Hot Spring organisers.

Day 08: Back to Kuta

Advised wakeup time 7 AM. Checkout from Hotel.

– Visit Tanah Lot Temple (Open 6AM – 7PM).

– Check-in at Hotel in Kuta.

– Enjoy Balinese Spa and Body Massage and Relax for the day or hop on busy streets of Kuta.

Things to Do:

  • Hire a Cab to Airport for the next day.
  • Web check-in to the flights for the next day.

Day 09: Departure

– Checkout of the Hotel and Reach Bali Airport at least 4 hours before your flight departure time.

Follow this Bali Itinerary to enjoy a perfect trip in Bali. Generally, the recommended time to visit Bali is between May to September. November to March are rainy days in Bali and are not advisable for travel. However, the tourists are less in the month of April and October. So, if you prefer less people around, do not plan between the month of May to September.

  • Internationally Accepted Debit Card (Enable International Transactions through Net Banking or Mobile Banking App).
  • Internationally Accepted Credit Cards (Enable International Transactions through Net Banking or Mobile Banking App).

  • Travel Insurance for upto 100,000 USD (Must include Covid Insurance).
  • Visa is on Arrival (No need to apply for visa in Indonesian Embassy).
  • Setusehat App Download.
  • 1000 USD Cash (You can carry more but you should have a bill from the currency exchange, maximum you can carry is USD equivalent to IDR 100,000,000).
  • Arogya Setu App Download.
