LiFT: Tell us about your book, the journey of writing it and its content.

Priyanka Bhandarkar: Life in its complexity is a daily introduction and in this book I share my childhood experience, upbringing and the comfort of growing up in the usual. This book is therefore unique in its understanding and how i have evolved as s human being. Each poem of this book has a story to tell which I have gathered into sweet memories. Life is a beautiful journey and our religion, culture and education may affect the way we perceive our lives. Balconies, mirror, combs, clothes, trophies, birthdays, furniture, lunch, toys, books etc. maintain continuity that attend to the heart a certain favour that life goes on. I believe that women are the gamechangers of the society and building blocks of a family. With Love, From Pinky is not about drawing lines but crossing boundaries. Life is what we make it and in the end it is impossible not to become what others believe you are.

LiFT: Why you chose this title?

Priyanka Bhandarkar: I felt compelled to share my thoughts with my family by bringing it in the form of a book. I hope to derive inspiration from this book when I look back and bring back on my face that very smile I wore as a child. My pet name is Pinky’ and I hope to tell many a tale in the pinkest of my health. Such a seed of faith is necessary to make life less plastic.

LiFT: When did you realize that you want to be a poet and what’s your inspiration behind it?

Priyanka Bhandarkar: Books are our best friends as they make our lives more interesting. As a child I enjoyed reading books and these books soon became a part of me and I decided to keep a permanent relationship with them. I began writing and this effort was rewarded and has made me what I am today. I think life has its fancy ways of leaving gifts behind. My first inspiration was a poem written by Robert Frost titled ‘THE ROAD NOT TAKEN’.

LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?

Priyanka Bhandarkar: As a Published Writer I want my name to be included in the Guinness Book of World Records. I have dared to follow my dreams and am the Co-Author of 120+ anthologies. To make a permanent mark in this field is very difficult and I hope to achieve this feat by writing atleast 500 words daily by recording my thoughts and giving it the form of a book. My beginnings of English are modern and I wish to stay inspired.

LiFT: How much do you think marketing or quality of a book is necessary to promote a particular book and increase its readers?

Priyanka Bhandarkar: I think it really requires what is called satisfaction.”Rome was not built in a day” and aspiration is just what may play the trick. Reading is quite a challenge and some books may find their place under the pillow or in the bathroom. People need to learn to respect poets and writers. And in this world of AI voicing our opinions do matter for each may have different interpretation of a story or a book. “A THING OF BEAUTY IS A JOY FOREVER”.

LiFT: What is the message you want to spread among folks with your writings?

Priyanka Bhandarkar: The main message I want to give is that–“India is a vibrant democracy” and there arises a need to lend a helping hand and participate in the process of making of a nation. I want to be able to contribute to this society and be the change.

LiFT: What do you do apart from writing?

Priyanka Bhandarkar: I have fun traveling with my family and love the little trips I take ENROUTE FROM BANGALORE. This is infact the title of one of my books published on the net. I am also an artist and enjoy painting. I was a Home Science student and find happiness in both eating and cooking. But the most important thing is that “LIFE IS WHAT WE MAKE IT”.

LiFT: What are the activities you resort to when you face a writer’s block?

Priyanka Bhandarkar: I just let my fumes go by watching television and listening to music and the latter I find indeed soothing to the soul. I am a simple person and find joys in the little things of life but I have to confess that I restore to the Metaverse family in my mobile for passing away most of the time.

LiFT: Are you working on your next book? If yes, please tell us something about it.

Priyanka Bhandarkar: Actually I have written EIGHT SOLO BOOKS on poetry and am now looking forward to writing a book containing short stories or even microtales. I am currently on a book project titled OMG which gives description about the UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITES in India. Also, I have enrolled for a Handwritten Contest which will be compiled in the form of a book and is organised by Rosewood Publication.

LiFT: What are your suggestions to the budding writers/poets so that they could improve their writing skills?

Priyanka Bhandarkar: Read avidly and try to write down your thoughts daily and the inspiration will invite itself. The younger generation should make an effort to take up writing as a profession for it is a good choice and brings out hidden joys as books are a part and parcel of our lives.
