About Yashodhara P

Jashodhara Purkayastha, her pen name is Yashodhara P is an author whose 20 books has been published till now including 3 Bengali and one Hindi. Being in education stream for 30 years, she taught from primary section to B.Ed level. She has been involved in dealing with domestic violence and counselling through handwriting analysis with MAVA, an organisation for 25 years. During counseling, she found some plots and she decorated with her own words. Her qualification is M.A in Economics, M.Ed, M.Phil.and Ph.d

LiFT: Tell us about your book, the journey of writing it and its content.

Yashodhara: My pen name is Yashodhara P. “Vibhavari” was written 10 years ago. The name was different. It was “Where Love Begins Vibhavari”. It was published from Pothi.com that time. The present book is published from Notion press. The journey started when I met a lady while counselling. Though the name of the heroine was fictitious and Vibhavari name has a meaning. According to her character in the story, the name was appropriate and it was described in the book. The problem of life opened a different page and stage was set to reopen again. Finally, revert to the original of purity, peace and bliss. Spiritual meaning of Love (eternal) is depicted through the character of the main role. Transformation is life. The distinct phases of life are illustrated through her character passing from turbulence to peace.

LiFT: Why you chose this title?

Yashodhara: Title “Vibhavari” was chosen to show that everyone on earth gets its name for some reasons.

LiFT: When did you realize that you want to be a writer and what’s your inspiration behind it?

Yashodhara: I started writing 35 years ago with a poetry and English grammar book for class x and xII. My two son and my husband are my inspiration. I cannot forget my mother who gave a notebook to write poems and quotes.

LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?

Yashodhara: Till date, I have written 20 books including 3 Bengali and one Hindi. Two books are translated in Gujarati.

LiFT: How much do you think marketing or quality of a book is necessary to promote a particular book and increase its readers?

Yashodhara: Marketing is very much needed for a good book to reach to genuine readers. Even book cover is important to attract the attention of readers. Sometimes this is also not correct because content of the book is very important. To understand the content of some books are needed more intellectual thought process.

LiFT: What is the message you want to spread among folks with your writings?

Yashodhara: I believe in spiritual love. Love is giving freedom to think independently by trusting whole heartedly. Love lifts the person into height of success. Love is not only a physical relation but also a sacrifice, understanding,respect and overall, trust. Love is blissful, divine and spiritual.

LiFT: What do you do apart from writing?

Yashodhara: Apart from writing, I do counselling, teaching and singing. Love to interact with under privileged and intend to share my experience.

LiFT: What are the activities you resort to when you face a writer’s block?

Yashodhara: When I face blocking of writing, I talk to my husband who helps me to solace and solve the problem. I sing Rabindra Sangeet.

LiFT: What if your story will be adopted as a movie? Whom would you want to work as a director or actors in it?

Yashodhara: Ajay Devgan and Kangana Ranawat, Akshay Kumar, Alia Bhatt
Sujit Sarkar, Sujoy Ghosh.

LiFT: Are you working on your next book? If yes, please tell us something about it.

Yashodhara: At present, my Crime paperback “Door to Death” is coming soon. eBook is available on Google. Now writing another crime story and a travel story.

LiFT: What are your suggestions to the budding writers/poets so that they could improve their writing skills?

Yashodhara: I’m not that famous author who can give suggestions or advice. I know one thing that everyone can write something or the other. I would like to tell that everyone must write its autobiography as every individual is unique.
