-It caters to your specific moods- emotions of joy, love, marriage, motherhood, fatherhood, kids and old age.

-It also touches you when you are feeling outraged against social evils like dowry, addiction, crime, domestic violence, suicide and the stories of things happening in our daily lives.

I am so happy to present this book to you as it comprises of heartfelt real-life experience-based collection of blogs and write-ups.

LiFT: Why did you choose this title?

Swapnil Roy: I chose the title Entwined Genres because my writing does not belong to a single category — it mirrors life itself, where emotions, thoughts, reflections, and realities overlap and flow together naturally. Each blog carries more than one flavor and even contrasting elements that are weaved together, just as in real lives.

LiFT: When did you realize that you wanted to be a writer, and what was your inspiration behind it?

Swapnil Roy: I consistently turned to writing to organize my thoughts. People resonated with my words and found comfort, clarity, or courage in them. Writing became my way of understanding the world and myself. Over time, this naturally evolved into sharing reflections with others — through blogs, captions, affirmations, and Soul Tinker — where words became a bridge to help others even without being physically present with them. I love writing.

LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?

Swapnil Roy: Ten years down the line I see Soul Tinker evolving into a respected reflective literature and conscious content space. Writing will remain a lifelong companion, not a milestone to finish. If someone finds strength, clarity, or courage in my words even years later — that will be success.Books are a legacy that stay even after the author is gone.

LiFT: How important do you think marketing and the quality of a book are in promoting it and increasing its readership?

Swapnil Roy: Even the most powerful book cannot grow if people don’t know it exists. In today’s crowded content space, visibility is not optional — it’s necessary. Marketing brings readers to the book. Quality makes them stay, return, and recommend. Sustainable readership is born when both walk together.

LiFT: What message do you want to convey to people through your writing?

Swapnil Roy: Through my writing, I wish to invite readers into conscious living by staying calm, to pause & reflect, take up slow mindful living and preserving your inner peace at all costs, in an otherwise fast and noisy world.

If my words leave you a little calmer, a little clearer, a little stronger, and a little kinder to yourself — then my writing has served its purpose.

LiFT: What do you do apart from writing?

Swapnil Roy: I play all the usual roles of a woman- being a daughter, wife,DIL, mother of two naughty children, a sister, a friend etc and also I am into a regular office job. I have some hobbies to keep me busy like reading, gardening, decorating home, managing events and I am an avid travel enthusiast.

LiFT: What activities do you resort to when you face writer’s block?

Swapnil Roy: I leave it completely and get to any other work giving my mind time to declutter and be at peace before getting back to writing. I am in no rush.

LiFT: What if your story were to be adapted into a movie? Who would you want to work as the director or actors in it?

Swapnil Roy: Wow, even thinking about it makes me feel flattered. But on second thoughts, this book and the collection of my blogs might actually be adapted into an entertaining series of short movies. Though I don’t have any particular director or actors on my mind, any such offer would be simply mind-blowing. Crossing my fingers for it!

LiFT: Are you working on your next book? If so, could you tell us something about it?

Swapnil Roy: Yes, I have a few things on my mind that have started taking shape on my word files. Hopefully, I will be coming up again with some new book published. It’s too early to comment on it now, as a full time job and other responsibilities don’t give me much time nowadays.

LiFT: What are your suggestions for budding writers and poets to help them improve their writing skills?

Swapnil Roy: Write to understand, not to impress. Observe deeply, stay consistent, protect your integrity, respect your reader, and allow yourself to grow patiently. Be honest with your work, keep writing, editing, learning and rest follows. Authenticity builds voices that last.
