LiFT: Tell us about your book, the journey of writing it, and its content.
Rashmi Vilas: Hope and Miracles is a collection of soulful poems that celebrate faith, resilience, and the power of positivity.
Each verse is a gentle reminder that even in life’s toughest moments, hope shines through and miracles unfold.
Hope and Miracles is not just a simple collection of poems, but these are my overwhelmed emotions. These words radiate feelings of hopefulness, positivity, and enabling my long-cherished dream to reality. My first poetry book is a celebration of new beginning, inner strength, and power of emotions. Every page marks a step in the journey that has just begun.
LiFT: Why did you choose this title?
Rashmi Vilas: I was going through some difficult situation. Hoping for the universe to really make things happen miraculously. This gave birth to the title of my book Hope and Miracles.
And by the time this book got published, Miracles did happen and transformed my faith into conviction.
LiFT: When did you realize that you wanted to be a writer, and what was your inspiration behind it?
Rashmi Vilas: To be a published writer had been my dream deeply cherished since my teenage years. However due to career and family responsibilities that took a back seat. Although Iam not an avid reader, but few books have truly influenced me to follow my heart and live my dream.
LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?
Rashmi Vilas: Ten years down the line I see myself writing books which would be full of inspiring content. Gratitude and humility are the sunshine that’ll help me craft out books which will have a large impact on the society as a whole.
LiFT: How important do you think marketing and the quality of a book are in promoting it and increasing its readership?
Rashmi Vilas: I think that writing a really good book is not enough. However interesting is the content and concept of the book, it has to be backed up by marketing so that it reaches a large number of readers.
LiFT: What message do you want to convey to people through your writing?
Rashmi Vilas: Through my writing, I want to remind people that hope always finds a way. I want readers to pause, breathe, reflect, and reconnect with the beauty in everyday moments — the blessings we often overlook. I want people to feel hope, joy, and positivity through my writing. If my words can make someone smile, think, or feel stronger in their own journey, then my purpose is fulfilled.
LiFT: What do you do apart from writing?
Rashmi Vilas: I find solace in painting nature-inspired paintings. I’m a postgraduate in Botany and thoroughly enjoy being a plant parent. My deep love for plants and flowers gives me immense joy towards gardening.
LiFT: What activities do you resort to when you face writer’s block?
Rashmi Vilas: Whenever I face a writer’s block I just go out, speak to friends and break from the daily routine. I spend such time to contemplate, while I cook up some sumptuous meal for my family.
LiFT: Are you working on your next book? If so, could you tell us something about it?
Rashmi Vilas: My next book is about the golden days when my daughters were young and so many beautiful memories we’ve had doing little things or during family vacations and outings. So much Nostalgia being cooked up.
LiFT: What are your suggestions for budding writers and poets to help them improve their writing skills?
Rashmi Vilas: I would suggest to write from real life experiences and your voices will gradually make it happen to write.
