About CB.Tanushree

Tanushree is a young Indian writer whose work reflects themes of faith, self-awareness, and inner reflection. She balances her studies with her interest in writing and aims to express the quiet thoughts and emotions that often remain unspoken. Whispers From Within is her debut book, capturing her belief in listening to the inner voice and staying connected to one’s values.

LiFT: Tell us about your book, the journey of writing it, and its content.

CB.Tanushree: My book Whispers From Within started during my school holidays after my 10th boards. I began writing seriously because I wanted to see whether the creative spark I had during the COVID period was still inside me. During lockdown, I used to write in Google Slides with colours and images just for fun, and that habit stayed quietly in me even when school reopened.

The book has different realms. The first realm is devotional, inspired by what my father tells me often that belief in God and consistent effort together bring blessings. I have experienced that myself. The remaining realms are lighter and speak to the inner child and the voice that people usually ignore. The book is a reflection of faith, self-value, and emotional honesty.

LiFT: Why did you choose this title?

CB.Tanushree: I chose Whispers From Within because the content of my book is based on the inner voice that everyone has but rarely listens to. The devotional realm encourages people to trust that voice, and the other realms reconnect readers with the simple, childlike part of themselves. Even though the title has been used before, it matched the intention of my book perfectly.

LiFT: When did you realize that you wanted to be a writer, and what was your inspiration behind it?

CB.Tanushree: I began writing during the COVID period in Google Slides, experimenting with colours and images. When school reopened, I stopped, but later I wanted to see if that creative side was still within me. So I wrote a short story on Wattpad. After my 10th boards, I finally used my holidays to write a proper book. My inspiration came from my own thoughts, faith, and the need to express feelings I usually keep inside.

LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?

CB.Tanushree: Ten years from now, I hope I am still writing with sincerity. I want to grow as a writer, publish more books, and stay connected to themes of faith, inner strength, and emotional clarity. I don’t expect anything grand I just want steady progress and honest work.

LiFT: How important do you think marketing and the quality of a book are in promoting it and increasing its readership?

CB.Tanushree: Both are important. Good quality makes readers connect with the book, and marketing helps the book reach them in the first place.

LiFT: What message do you want to convey to people through your writing?

CB.Tanushree: I want to convey belief in God, belief in oneself, and the importance of listening to the inner voice that gets ignored. My first realm reflects my father’s teachings and my own experiences of how faith and effort together can change a person’s life.

LiFT: What do you do apart from writing?

CB.Tanushree: Apart from writing, I focus on my studies. I also read, reflect, and observe small things in daily life. Many of my ideas come from these quiet moments.

LiFT: What activities do you resort to when you face writer’s block?

CB.Tanushree: When I face writer’s block, I take a break and clear my mind. I listen to music, or go for cycling. I don’t force myself to write, and the ideas return naturally in a much better way when my mind feels lighter.

LiFT: Are you working on your next book? If so, could you tell us something about it?

CB.Tanushree: I have a few ideas forming, but nothing is final yet. I want the next book to grow naturally, without rushing, and right now I need to focus more on my academics. So it may take around a year or so for my second book to be completed and published.

LiFT: What are your suggestions for budding writers and poets to help them improve their writing skills?

CB.Tanushree: I don’t feel like I’m in a position to give suggestions because I’m a budding author myself. But from my experience, writing improves when we stay honest with our thoughts and patient with our journey. Even small, consistent writing helps the voice become clearer over time.
