About Monika Gupta
Monika Gupta is a poet who is also an English teacher. She possess a certain passion for writing and finds deep contentment once words take their journey from mind and rest on paper.
LiFT: Tell us about the theme of the anthology and how did you get to know about it?
Monika Gupta: The theme of this anthology is very emotional as it invites to write about the feelings that we keep buried deep down our hearts. My poem ‘Deception’ also highlights how people superficially say ‘All well’ when asked about their well being irrespective of what they are going through. I got to know about this anthology through WhatsApp group.
LiFT: What inspired you to write for this particular anthology?
Monika Gupta: The title Unspoken Sentiments instilled an urge to write as it relates to the feelings and emotions that are often not put into words.
LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?
Monika Gupta: I wish to get more of anthologies published along with a collection of short stories.
LiFT: What do you do apart from writing?
Monika Gupta: I impart language skills to high school students and others who wish to acquire knowledge of English grammar.
LiFT: Are you working on your own book? If yes, please tell us something about it.
Monika Gupta: Yes, I have started collecting poems for another anthology. My first anthology ‘Soul World’ boosted my confidence to work on another one.
LiFT: What are your suggestions to the budding writers/poets so that they could improve their writing skills?
Monika Gupta: Reading more gives you the exposure of different genres and awareness about styles of writing. You must believe in the originality of your thought, pour your heart into your words and you will surely excel in the art of writing.
