LiFT: Tell us about the theme of the anthology and how did you get to know about it?
Sumaiyal: The anthology theme is open genre so it welcomes different kinds of poems and short stories in English & I came to know about it through the publication group.
LiFT: What inspired you to write for this particular anthology?
Sumaiyal: I already had a few poems written, and the anthology title felt like a good match for my work. So I thought it would be a nice opportunity to publish them in a collection that suited my style.
LiFT: Where do you see yourself in the world of literature ten years down the line?
Sumaiyal: In my point of view, ten years down the line, I see myself growing as a more confident and mature writer. I hope to have written more poems and stories, and to have built a meaningful place for myself.
LiFT: What do you do apart from writing?
Sumaiyal: Apart from writing, I enjoy reading and listening to music. I also like trying new dishes occasionally.
LiFT: Are you working on your own book? If yes, please tell us something about it.
Sumaiyal: Yes, I am working on my own book, which is a collection of poems. It is being written in a way that people can connect with the emotions and experiences in each piece, and I hope to complete it soon.
LiFT: What are your suggestions to the budding writers/poets so that they could improve their writing skills?
Sumaiyal: My suggestion for budding writers and poets is to read widely, write regularly, and keep observing life around you. Most importantly, write in a way that readers can connect with your words, because meaningful writing always leaves an impact.
