LiFT: Tell us about your book, the journey of writing it, and its content.
Agneeth Aaron: Writing The Adventures of Taboo has been an exciting and memorable journey for me. I started this book because I wanted to create a world full of imagination, surprises, and characters that feel alive. What began as a small idea slowly grew into an adventure that I enjoyed building every single day.
The process wasn’t always easy—there were times when I rewrote chapters, changed scenes, or spent hours thinking about how Taboo should react in different situations. But every challenge taught me something new, and watching the story take shape made it all worth it.
The book follows Taboo, a brave little creature who goes on an extraordinary adventure filled with mystery, friendship, and courage. Through his journey, I wanted readers—especially children like me—to feel inspired to dream big and believe in their own imagination.
This book has been a huge part of my life for the last three years, and I’m grateful for the support of my family, especially my brother who created the artwork. I hope everyone who reads this story enjoys it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
LiFT: Why did you choose this title?
Agneeth Aaron: I chose the title “The Adventures of Taboo” because it perfectly captures the spirit of the story and the character I created. Taboo is curious, brave, and always ready for an adventure—just like many of the ideas that inspired me while writing. I wanted a title that felt exciting and immediately told the reader that they were about to enter a world full of mystery, challenges, and fun.
The word “Adventures” reflects the action and journey-driven nature of the book, while “Taboo” is a unique name that I felt readers would remember. It represents a character who is different, bold, and willing to explore the unknown—just like I did while writing my first novel.
LiFT: When did you realize that you wanted to be a writer, and what was your inspiration behind it?
Agneeth Aaron: I think I realized I wanted to be a writer when I was about nine years old. I’ve always loved creating stories in my mind—sometimes during long car rides, sometimes while playing, and sometimes just before falling asleep. There was something exciting about imagining worlds that didn’t exist yet and characters who felt real to me.
My biggest inspiration came from the books I read and the authors who made me feel like I was part of their adventures. I wanted to give other kids that same feeling—of being transported into a new world. My family also encouraged me a lot; they always believed in my creativity, and that made me want to turn my ideas into something real. That’s when I decided to actually write a book and not just think about stories. And once I started writing, I knew this was something I wanted to keep doing.
LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?
Agneeth Aaron: In ten years, I see myself growing deeper into the world of storytelling—writing more books, exploring new genres, and building richer worlds for readers to enjoy. I hope to become an established author whose stories inspire children and spark their imagination, just like the books I grew up reading. I also want to keep improving my writing skills, learning from every experience, and maybe even experimenting with graphic novels or series-based adventures. Most importantly, I want to continue creating stories that make readers feel excited, curious, and connected, no matter how old I become.
LiFT: How important do you think marketing and the quality of a book are in promoting it and increasing its readership?
Agneeth Aaron: I think both marketing and the quality of a book play an equally important role in helping a story reach its readers. Good marketing helps people discover the book—especially in a world where so many titles are released every day—but it can only work if the book itself has strong content, clear writing, and an engaging idea that stays with the reader.
Quality is what makes someone recommend the book to others or want to read more from the same author. Marketing creates the first impression, but the content determines the lasting impact. When both come together—strong storytelling and the right visibility—the book has a much better chance of growing its readership and finding its true audience.
LiFT: What message do you want to convey to people through your writing?
Agneeth Aaron: Through my writing, I want to remind readers—especially young ones—that courage, imagination, and kindness can take you farther than you think. The world is filled with challenges, but it’s also filled with possibilities, and I believe every person has a spark of creativity or strength inside them waiting to come alive.
With The Adventures of Taboo, my message is simple: no adventure is too big when you believe in yourself, and even the smallest heroes can change their world. I hope my stories encourage people to dream boldly, stay curious, and never lose their sense of wonder.
LiFT: What do you do apart from writing?
Agneeth Aaron: Apart from writing, I enjoy exploring different creative and learning activities that inspire me. I spend a lot of time reading books, especially adventure and fantasy stories, because they help me imagine new worlds and characters. I also enjoy sketching, playing football, Table tennis, Karate, Silambam, Cube and experimenting with new ideas for stories. When I’m not doing any of these, I love spending time with my family and learning new things that spark my curiosity. All of these experiences help me grow as a writer and give me fresh inspiration for future books.
LiFT: What activities do you resort to when you face writer’s block?
Agneeth Aaron: When I face writer’s block, I usually take a break and do something that relaxes my mind. Sometimes I sketch or draw, and other times I read books or watch something interesting to spark new ideas. Going for a walk or simply spending time thinking quietly also helps me reset. These small activities refresh my thoughts and help me come back to writing with a clearer mind and new inspiration.
LiFT: What if your story were to be adapted into a movie? Who would you want to work as the director or actors in it?
Agneeth Aaron: If The Adventures of Taboo were made into a movie, I would love a director who understands fantasy and adventure deeply—someone like Steven Spielberg or Jon Favreau. I would want actors who can bring emotion and energy to the characters, but honestly, I would be excited to see fresh new faces too. What matters most is that the team understands the heart of the story.
LiFT: Are you working on your next book? If so, could you tell us something about it?
Agneeth Aaron: “Yes! I’ve already started thinking about my next book. It’s still in the early stages, but it will explore a new world and a fresh adventure with different characters. I’m excited to experiment and grow as a writer with every new story I create.”
LiFT: What are your suggestions for budding writers and poets to help them improve their writing skills?
Agneeth Aaron: Reading different styles—whether fantasy, poetry, or everyday stories—helps you understand how writers build worlds, emotions, and rhythm. Writing regularly, even if it’s just a few lines a day, helps you develop your own voice and confidence. And observing the world around you—people, conversations, nature—adds depth and realism to your imagination.
Most importantly, don’t be afraid of making mistakes. Every draft teaches you something. Keep writing, stay curious, and enjoy the process of creating your own stories.
