LiFT: Tell us about your book, the journey of writing it, and its content.
Surender Kaur: The content is about conscious living by Mindfulness, Meditation, Affirmations, Self love and doing the things you love to do.
LiFT: Why did you choose this title?
Surender Kaur: Because it is all about our Mind and thoughts which created our future and reality.. moreover my book is all about conscious and intentionally generating positive thoughts by mindfulness.
LiFT: When did you realize that you wanted to be a writer, and what was your inspiration behind it?
Surender Kaur: I wanted to tell everyone who lives in their own mind and not able to find their true worth.. they are lost in their own thoughts and perceptions but no able to find their true versions… I suffered a lot from my own negative mindset and thought patters and changed them also. I want everyone who are like my old versions to be changed and get free from the sufferings.
LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?
Surender Kaur: I don’t know but I love writing a lot.
LiFT: How important do you think marketing and the quality of a book are in promoting it and increasing its readership?
Surender Kaur: Quite important because your writings must reach to the reader who resonates with it… it shouldn’t be lost anywhere.
LiFT: What message do you want to convey to people through your writing?
Surender Kaur: Your own future is in your hands… change your thoughts and change your reality… as I did.
LiFT: What do you do apart from writing?
Surender Kaur: I am working in one of the top leading public sector bank. Moreover, I love giving coaching regarding mindfulness and meditation. I also love dancing and singing a lot.
LiFT: What activities do you resort to when you face writer’s block?
Surender Kaur: Surrender, patience, clarity from people around me about what can you do now.
LiFT: What are your suggestions for budding writers and poets to help them improve their writing skills?
Surender Kaur: Try to write in early morning at around 5 am. Be yourself and write in your own way like you are talking to someone. Believe in yourself.
