Short Story Divine to Dawn by Dr. Amisha Priya

Divine hour with birds claw followed by morning securities (street dogs), along with a roaming thief, they are not able to cuff (street cats), enjoying the moment and unlocking the front door to follow my routine. While unlocking the door, the securities welcomed me, wishing good mornings in the form of their cute barks.

I (the girl) step into my work that is sweeping my doorstep. That is very hard for me. Why? Due to the person next door, who often throws scrap towards our doorstep. Who is known to us, but due to some conflicts, we pretend to be unknown. The scrap throw show mainly arises when there are festivals and celebrations. They throw scrap near the colorful Kolam. Till now, the reason for throwing scrap is unknown.

Followed by the scrap, there are some unbearable activities. All these things are planned and executed by the women in the house; she just directs others to do such things. She has two boys, they are married and have kids (girl children). She misguides her youngest son to overlook the girl (me). His oversight and spying count as abuse.

The male figure’s appearance at my house disappears her youngest son, but there is a question. Is it possible that every time a male figure should be available in the house? If the girl (I) disappears from their eyesight and is not approachable, then they honk their car horn as much as possible. The above step is followed only at the arrival of her youngest son. In the absence of her youngest son, she teams up with others.

The girl went out for a job, which was not known to them. The exact place where she is going and coming back, so she appoints an outsider woman to note her day-to-day activities (she has two kids, one girl & one boy. The girl is at the age of getting married.) Outside activities are controlled by her. When the girl roamed near the corridor, she was closely watched by the tenants who lived upstairs in their house.

She holds two kids (one girl, one boy) boy aged nearly 10 to 15 years, not known correctly. He mocked the girl when she appeared for Kolam or other activities outside. At the same point, if the Male figure is present, everybody maintains silence. The most unbearable thing is that the girl’s family member is admitted to the hospital, so their parents are busy taking care of the family member. At that time, the woman inspires the tent to torture the girl or speak with the girl to know the current activities.

The tenant planned something and called upon her relative son, and asked the boy to watch the girl and mock her continuously. He did it, at that time Male figure of the house appeared and the boy disappeared.

Following the story, you would question me ‘Why the girl’s family can’t report to the police?’ That’s because the lady at the other house is in a relationship with a high political power male. You’ll wonder knowing her age is around 60 or 70, but she cannot be called even a woman considering her cheap deeds.

Following the next incidents, the girl’s parents went out for shopping. At that time girl was alone in the house. The woman next door stepped out from the house and was monitoring the girl’s activities. At that time, the girl’s parents came suddenly, the woman ran up and stepped into her house.

When the girl’s family went out, the woman stepped up with her husband and jumped into the girl’s house to note down the clear activities. Her husband is also not good from the beginning of their marriage. He had relationships with several women. Last but not least, the woman he married was his friend for benefits before the marriage. Overall, why are they always a hindrance to the girl? Is she well educated and cultural woman? They scale the girl according to their predication, which is out of control so they need to defame the girl with several means, but nothing works out till now.

It is a small part of the story, there are several parallel stories the girls are facing in their daily life. Most of the girls time is overdue by resolving the mysteries. Some girls are backing off and are tired of boxing with each other. Some others are thinking about their married life and their parents. Some are still boxing, but they are not even pleased by the judgment due to the influence of political powers.

Shame to call our country a democratic/independent/republican. We are calling our nation Mother India, but there is no security for our ladies throughout the world. Some charge that the happenings are happening due to power handling, but it is not like that. It is due to a single person’s heart handling. If anybody calls you to do mischiefs for money and other needs, do you kill your mother? If It doesn’t mean how can you kill Mother India hidden in every girl children/ damsel life. Every child is guided by primary education up to the school level. If they are poor, they also should get the same free education at the college level as well. People know what is good or bad. But when someone tries to manipulate you, why would you fall into their bad deeds net? Are money or eatables more essential than our mother India? People surrender themselves to these things, then immediately remove themselves from the whole world. Just build your own world and pick up your rules and regulations, which do not harm the people in Mother India.
