Palak Chauhan is an aspiring writer pursuing her career in journalism and mass communication from Devi Prasad Goenka management college of media studies Malad West. She started writing at an early age of five years and has published her books Poetry exhibit, Fragments of life, Strength in verse, Adventures of Luna and the enchanted forest, Hands of Devotion and Murder in Venice.

LiFT: Tell us about your book, the journey of writing it and its content?

Palak Chauhan: This wasn’t an initial idea that I would publish this book because it was a short story which I wrote for my assignment then I added few details to the book then I thought I should publish it. The content of this book is based on mysterious murder taking place in a small town and how a detective uncovers the mystery behind the murders.

LiFT: Why you chose this title?

Palak Chauhan: I chose this title because I wanted to spark some interest in the mind of audiences who would love to read more about the book.

LiFT: When did you realize that you want to be a writer and what’s your inspiration behind it?

Palak Chauhan: I started writing at an early age of five years and then my mentors and parents suggested me that I should become a writer so my proper journey after my 12th std.

LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?

Palak Chauhan: A successful author who’s breaking all the best selling records and people are going crazy about my books and they are marketed worldwide.

LiFT: How much do you think marketing or quality of a book is necessary to promote a particular book and increase its readers?

Palak Chauhan: It is very important because people tend to forget your work as there are so many books out there and some publishers miss the mark here that’s when the readers get bored and lose interest in your book.

LiFT: What is the message you want to spread among folks with your writings?

Palak Chauhan: My only message would be that don’t stop believing in yourself and whatever is happening in your life will go away easily but you need to hold on tight.

LiFT: What do you do apart from writing?

Palak Chauhan: I am a freelance script writer for TBC creation, I am currently pursuing my master’s in journalism and mass communication from Devi Prasad Goenka and I write for anthologies.

LiFT: What are the activities you resort to when you face a writer’s block?

Palak Chauhan: I stop writing for sometime and then I try to take inspiration from my surroundings then when I keep thinking about it comes immediately and then I note it down somewhere.

LiFT: What if your story will be adopted as a movie? Whom would you want to work as a director or actors in it?

Palak Chauhan: I would like to work with Margot Robbie, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Will Smith just hoping for the best.

LiFT: Are you working on your next book? If yes, please tell us something about it.

Palak Chauhan: Not right now I want to take a break from publishing work that’s why I am not planning to publish any books in the coming years.

LiFT: What are your suggestions to the budding writers/poets so that they could improve their writing skills?

Palak Chauhan: Keep practising, keep reading, watch movies if you want to gain inspiration for your books.
