About Noel P T

Noel P T believes in the fantasy of reading from blank pages and making those words visible to his readers. Despite being a computer science engineer, he is passionate about English literature and intends to create a universe for avid readers. This Indian author, currently residing in Canada, has written a novel, short stories, tiny tales, musings, and hundreds of poems, and he is continuing his journey of playing with words.

LiFT: Tell us about your book, the journey of writing it, and its content.

Noel P T: Winey is a collection of romance poetry that can get you high. I have been writing poems since 2018, but I had no plan of getting these poems published as a book. When I started posting them on Instagram, I received great responses from my readers. That was when I thought maybe I should come up with a poetry book, and then the plan of ‘Winey’ was on!

LiFT: Why did you choose this title?

Noel P T: When you see a glass of wine, you long for it, while having, you love the taste, and eventually you lose yourself to it, just like that, romance is poured into this book in its three phases. Long. Love. Lose. That’s how I like to connect the title to its content.

LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?

Noel P T: Ten years down the line, I see myself in the pages.

LiFT: How important do you think marketing and the quality of a book are in promoting it and increasing its readership?

Noel P T: Even if I wrote the best book in the world, without marketing, nobody would know about it, and if I did the best marketing of the worst book, nobody would actually like it. So, I would say both marketing and quality are equally important factors in the success of a book.

LiFT: What message do you want to convey to people through your writing?

Noel P T: If this question is about this particular book ‘Winey’, there is no message I am trying to convey. It’s more about making people feel the emotions the way I have felt.

LiFT: What activities do you resort to when you face writer’s block?

Noel P T: I listen to music, and if it doesn’t help, I watch good movies, read thoughtful poems, or observe my surroundings, and it somehow revives the writer in me.

LiFT: Are you working on your next book? If so, could you tell us something about it?

Noel P T: Oh yes, I am currently working on three books and a screenplay. I know it’s madness to handle many stories at a time, but I’m having fun with them. Hopefully, these works will be out one by one in the coming years.

LiFT: What are your suggestions for budding writers and poets to help them improve their writing skills?

Noel P T: I would just say, observe the stories around you, blend it with your imagination, and give it life. Make it a poem, make it a story, or make it a novel.
