About Eshita Singh
Eshita Singh is a dynamic and passionate author, motivational speaker, banker, and spiritual seeker based in Jaipur, with roots in the culturally rich city of Varanasi. A Branch Manager at the State Bank of India, she gracefully balances her professional life with her calling as a writer and changemaker. Eshita’s literary journey gained momentum with the release of her debut novel Happens Like a Dream in 2021, a heartfelt fiction love story that gently touches on themes of self-love and personal growth. The book became a bestseller and marked the beginning of a flourishing writing career.
In 2023, she released Redefining Success for Empowered Living, another bestselling work that redefined the concept of success through a body-mind-soul approach, and inspired countless readers to embrace a more fulfilling and authentic life. Her third book, The Art of Effective Parenting (2024), offered heartfelt insights from her personal journey as a mother. The same year, she led a collaborative book titled Love Connection, a collection of short love stories written by seven authors, and Sugar and Brownies, her first poetry collection dedicated to her son, was released in December.
One of her most powerful contributions to literature is Devi: Flames of Empowerment (2025), a book that celebrates the divine feminine within each of us. It emphasizes that empowerment is not bound by caste, creed, or gender—it emerges from pain, transformation, and inner strength. The book sparked meaningful offline engagement through awareness activities and sessions focused on women empowerment. Eshita is currently working on its sequels, which feature the stories of real-life, unsung “she-heroes”—ordinary women with extraordinary strength and resilience. These inspiring narratives aim to create a ripple of hope and courage in society.
Beyond writing, Eshita is a seasoned speaker who has delivered impactful talks in schools and colleges across India, focusing on emotional healing, self-awareness, and empowerment.
Rooted in deep values and driven by purpose, Eshita Singh continues to inspire through her words, her actions, and her unwavering belief in the transformative power of stories.
LiFT: Tell us about your book, the journey of writing it, and its content.
Eshita Singh: Writing Devi has been more than just a literary project—it’s been a spiritual and emotional journey. It is inspired by the various forms of Goddess and the countless faces of womanhood around us.
Each chapter of Devi draws from real-life emotions, modern challenges, and the spirit of contemporary Indian womanhood. Whether it’s a tale of silent strength, courageous choice, or soulful transformation, the book speaks of women who embody the divine in their own unique ways.
Crafting every story meant diving deep into the layers of the feminine soul—her power, her pain, her resilience, and her rise.
Devi reflects the truth of countless women who may look ordinary but carry extraordinary fire within them.
This book is my offering to every woman who has ever risen after being broken, every girl who dares to dream beyond boundaries, and every soul that believes in the sacred within the self.
LiFT: Why did you choose this title?
Eshita Singh: I chose the title Devi because it represents the powerful, graceful, and transformative essence of the feminine energy in its truest, real-life form. This book is not about mythology—it’s about the spiritual and emotional dimensions of women as they face modern challenges and discover their inner strength.
To me, Devi symbolizes every woman who rises through adversity, nurtures with love, stands firm in truth, and grows with awareness. Through this book, I aim to highlight the contemporary relevance of the divine feminine—not as a religious idea, but as a lived experience of strength, healing, resilience, and inner power.
LiFT: When did you realize that you wanted to be a writer/poet, and what was your inspiration behind it?
Eshita Singh: Becoming a writer was not just a decision—it was a childhood dream rooted deep in my heart. My grandfather was a writer, and watching him filled me with admiration and a silent promise to myself: that one day, I too would become an author.
I carried this dream quietly for years, nurturing it in the corners of my mind. But life kept me busy—until 2021, when I fell seriously ill. For the first time, I felt the fragility of life so closely, and the fear of not being able to fulfill my dream pushed me into action. I told myself, “If I have to leave this world, let me at least leave behind a book.”
And that’s how my first book, Happens Like a Dream, was born—a story close to my soul, born from pain, love, and the urgency to express what truly matters.
LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?
Eshita Singh: Ten years from now, I see myself as a well-established author and a profound speaker—someone whose words, both written and spoken, have created ripples of impact. I aspire to write books that not only tell stories but also stir emotions, ignite thought, and inspire real change.
Alongside writing, I envision myself on stages—sharing insights, life experiences, and learnings with authenticity and purpose. I want to blend the power of written and verbal communication to touch lives, guide others, and create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and empowered.
In the literary world, I hope to have built a legacy rooted in emotional honesty, soulful expression, and meaningful contribution.
LiFT: How important do you think marketing and the quality of a book are in promoting it and increasing its readership?
Eshita Singh: Both quality and marketing go hand in hand. A well-written book with genuine emotions, relatable content, and thoughtful execution is the foundation—but if it doesn’t reach the right readers, its potential remains untapped.
Marketing helps in giving that voice a platform. It creates awareness, builds curiosity, and connects the book to its intended audience. In today’s world, where attention is divided across platforms, strong visibility is essential.
That said, no amount of marketing can sustain a book that lacks depth or quality. A good book builds long-term readership through word of mouth, emotional resonance, and lasting impact—while effective marketing ensures it gets the opportunity to be discovered.
LiFT: What message do you want to convey to people through your writing?
Eshita Singh: Through my writing, I want to remind people that they are not alone in their emotions or experiences. Life may be messy, unpredictable, or painful at times—but there is always hope, healing, and strength waiting to be rediscovered within.
My stories and reflections aim to inspire self-awareness, resilience, love, and personal growth. I want readers to feel seen, understood, and empowered—to believe that their voice matters, their journey is valid, and their story is still unfolding beautifully.
At its core, my writing is a celebration of authenticity and emotional courage—the kind that transforms pain into purpose and silence into strength.
LiFT: What do you do apart from writing?
Eshita Singh: Apart from writing, I work as a Branch Manager at State Bank of India—a role that keeps me grounded in real-life challenges and human interactions. Balancing leadership and responsibility in the banking world gives me a unique perspective that often reflects in my writing.
I’m also a tarot card reader, a dedicated volunteer at the Isha Yoga Centre, and someone who is deeply connected to inner growth. In 2023, I proudly participated in the Save Soil Movement, aligning with my belief in conscious living and giving back to society. These diverse roles allow me to stay connected to both the spiritual and practical dimensions of life, enriching my voice as a writer.
LiFT: What activities do you resort to when you face writer’s block?
Eshita Singh: When I face writer’s block, I find it helpful to step away from the page and engage in activities that help clear my mind and restore my creative flow. I often turn to meditation or a quick yoga session, which helps me ground myself and reconnect with my thoughts.
Sometimes, I immerse myself in nature—whether it’s a walk or simply sitting outside—which often brings fresh perspectives. I also rely on reading, not just for inspiration, but to remind myself why I write and what stories I want to share. If that doesn’t work, I sometimes allow myself to write freely without pressure, just to get the words flowing again.
I believe in giving myself the space to rest, trusting that the creativity will return when the time is right.
LiFT: What if your story were to be adapted into a movie? Who would you want to work as the director or actors in it?
Eshita Singh: If my story were to be adapted into a movie, I would be thrilled to see it brought to life by a director who understands the emotional depth and nuances of the narrative. Someone, who masterfully captures raw human emotion and storytelling with authenticity, would be an ideal choice.
For the cast, I’d love to see versatile talents like Radhika Apte or Rajkummar Rao contribute to the project.
Ultimately, I would want a team that can truly understand the heart of the story, with an emphasis on staying true to the emotional essence while bringing it into a visual medium.
LiFT: Are you working on your next book? If so, could you tell us something about it?
Eshita Singh: Yes, I’m working on my next book, and it’s something very special to me. After the success of Devi, my new book focuses on inner strength, healing, and transformation. It’s about how we can grow through difficult times and find our power, even when life feels tough.
The book combines real-life stories with ideas to help people feel more empowered and hopeful. It’s meant to be a guide for anyone going through challenges, showing that even in the hardest moments, we can find our strength and keep moving forward.
I really hope it will speak to those who need encouragement and support as they navigate their own journeys.
LiFT: What are your suggestions for budding writers and poets to help them improve their writing skills?
Eshita Singh: For budding writers and poets, I’d say the most important thing is to listen to your heart. Write from a place of truth and authenticity—your unique voice is what will set you apart. Don’t be afraid to express your deepest thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
Consistency is key. Writing regularly, even if it’s just a little bit each day, helps develop your skills and discipline. Don’t worry about perfection right away; focus on progress. You’ll improve with every word you write.
Also, read widely—both in and outside your genre. It will help you expand your understanding of language and storytelling techniques. And finally, don’t be afraid to seek feedback, but trust your instincts, too.
