LiFT: Tell us about your book, the journey of writing it, and its content.
Sipra Supriya Naik: The book “TULIP: Stand tall in every phase of life” is a book for self empowerment. I believe, a book should relate to the reader through the words, emotions that are universal. So that, we can uplift each other even when we are unknown. Everyone have their own story, it needs just little belief to stay on their journey to achieve their goal. And this book solely helps to strengthen that belief.
LiFT: Why did you choose this title?
Sipra Supriya Naik: Like the flower Tulip needs proper care to bloom, we should be responsible for our life. So that, we can stand tall in any season of life. Life is beautiful, we just need to learn the lessons it teaches us.
LiFT: When did you realize that you wanted to be a writer, and what was your inspiration behind it?
Sipra Supriya Naik: I note down the observation on life since childhood. I use them to write small quotes, which could help others. But, with my debut book, ‘Tulip’ I made a full length poetry collection, which could stand for all. I had a feeling for writing such a book, and made it true. So, I’m happy now.
LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?
Sipra Supriya Naik: I don’t long for eternity, but if I can help people now, even with just little assuring words, then I should do it. That’s what I believe. I have written many write up for a lot of anthologies, relating to different emotions to explore my own writing. In literature journey I’m now exploring the way. So, I hope for best, not just for me, but for my work too.
LiFT: How important do you think marketing and the quality of a book are in promoting it and increasing its readership?
Sipra Supriya Naik: Marketing and promoting of a book is much needed in today’s world. Because there are a lot of books, and readers have many options. To stand out of the crowd, it should be promoted continuously. So that, it can reach the readers, it needs.
LiFT: What message do you want to convey to people through your writing?
Sipra Supriya Naik: The book TULIP is there to uplift your emotions. I would write many book many book to help people. But the courage to take the responsibility of individual life is in their hand. I would say, “Believe in yourself. Heal first. So that when good thing starts to happen, you could enjoy it properly. Keep yourself alive, before the end.”
LiFT: What do you do apart from writing?
Sipra Supriya Naik: I study and research about new policies for my own research in it. Being a lawyer, I keep updated with current news, provisions. In free time I paint, which is inherent talent from childhood. Many awards got within my academic journey to be a prominent artist. From block, district level to Chief Minister’s Trophy also got me recognized as a talented artist.
LiFT: What activities do you resort to when you face writer’s block?
Sipra Supriya Naik: I look for the real life story, in my life or observing people around me. So that I can relate to the emotions and way of it. Then I compile with suitable words for readers. So that it would inspire other rather than just a document.
LiFT: Are you working on your next book? If so, could you tell us something about it?
Sipra Supriya Naik: I’m writing book which would be a novel, based on real history of Indian subcontinent. The story would be so visible about the spirit of the people in our history, in ancient & medieval time. So I’m excited to launch it to see the response.
LiFT: What are your suggestions for budding writers and poets to help them improve their writing skills?
Sipra Supriya Naik: In my little writing journey, I realized that, a writing should be honest and based on real emotional journey. So, that it could help the reader to live through it. Made up or adding artificial things risks the storyline, which could totally skip the emotions. More or little, it should relate to real events.
