About Chaitanya Munganda

Chaitanya Krishna Munganda is a storyteller with a deep passion for exploring emotions, relationships, and the power of ambition. His debut novel, PREMA KAVYAM, captures the innocence of first love, the weight of family responsibility, and the resilience needed to chase one’s dreams. Drawing inspiration from his roots in a Godavari town, Chaitanya weaves a narrative that feels both deeply personal and universally relatable. Beyond writing, he works in the field of supply chain transformation, but it is storytelling that remains closest to his heart.

LiFT: Tell us about your book, the journey of writing it, and its content.

Chaitanya Munganda: PREMA KAVYAM is very close to my heart because it blends two defining aspects of life—love and ambition. The story follows Arjun, a boy from a small Godavari town, as he experiences the sweetness of first love, the pain of loss, and the responsibility of family. Alongside this, it captures his struggle and determination to prepare for the CAT exam, a journey many students in India can relate to.

The idea for the book came from wanting to portray the raw emotions of youth—the innocence, the confusion, the heartbreak, and the rediscovery of purpose. Writing it was both challenging and liberating. I poured into it my observations of small-town life, friendships, and the way circumstances can shape a person’s choices. What started as a simple attempt to tell a story gradually became a journey of self-discovery, and I believe readers will see a reflection of their own lives somewhere in these pages.

LiFT: Why did you choose this title?

Chaitanya Munganda: I chose the title PREMA KAVYAM because the story itself feels like a poem of love—raw, simple, and deeply emotional. It’s not just about romance, but about the different shades of love: for a person, for family, for dreams, and for life itself. The title reflects the lyrical flow of emotions in the book, where every moment—whether joyful or painful—becomes a verse in the larger poem of Arjun’s journey.

LiFT: When did you realize that you wanted to be a writer, and what was your inspiration behind it?

Chaitanya Munganda: I think the desire to write had always been there, quietly growing with me. I used to jot down small thoughts, poems, and reflections without thinking of myself as a writer. It was during my college days, surrounded by stories of ambition, friendship, and heartbreak, that I realized how much I wanted to give voice to those emotions. The inspiration for PREMA KAVYAM came from observing real people—students chasing dreams, young hearts discovering love, and families balancing hope with hardship. Writing became my way of preserving those moments and turning them into something meaningful for others.

LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?

Chaitanya Munganda: Ten years from now, I see myself continuing to tell stories that touch people’s hearts and remain relevant across generations. PREMA KAVYAM is just the beginning—I want to explore different shades of human emotions and ambitions through more novels, and hopefully build a body of work that readers will return to for comfort, inspiration, and connection. My dream is to grow as a writer with every book and to leave behind stories that feel timeless, much like the ones that inspired me.

LiFT: How important do you think marketing and the quality of a book are in promoting it and increasing its readership?

Chaitanya Munganda: Both quality and marketing go hand in hand. A book like PREMA KAVYAM needed to be written with honesty and depth first—because without a strong story and relatable emotions, no amount of marketing can truly connect with readers. At the same time, in today’s world, even the best books can remain unnoticed without the right promotion. Marketing helps a story reach the audience it was meant for, while quality ensures that once readers pick it up, they carry it in their hearts and recommend it to others. For me, the two are inseparable—quality creates impact, and marketing creates visibility.

LiFT: What message do you want to convey to people through your writing?

Chaitanya Munganda: Through PREMA KAVYAM, I want to remind readers that life is a blend of love, struggle, and responsibility—and each of these makes us who we are. Dreams may demand sacrifice, love may test our courage, and family may shape our choices, but in the end, it is these very experiences that give meaning to our journey. My message is simple: cherish your emotions, stay true to your dreams, and never lose hope, no matter how hard life gets.

LiFT: What do you do apart from writing?

Chaitanya Munganda: Apart from writing, I work in the field of supply chain transformation, helping organizations build efficient and future-ready operations. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, reflecting, and observing everyday life—small details, emotions, and experiences that often find their way into my stories. Writing may be my passion, but these other aspects of my life keep me grounded and continuously inspired.

LiFT: What activities do you resort to when you face writer’s block?

Chaitanya Munganda: Whenever I face writer’s block, I step away from the page and allow myself to breathe. Sometimes it’s as simple as taking a long walk, listening to music, or revisiting a favorite book. I also find inspiration in everyday conversations and small observations around me—life has a way of offering new stories when you slow down to notice it. These little breaks refresh my mind, and often, the words return on their own when I stop forcing them.

LiFT: What if your story were to be adapted into a movie? Who would you want to work as the director or actors in it?

Chaitanya Munganda: If PREMA KAVYAM were adapted into a movie, I would love for it to be handled by a director who truly understands emotions and subtle storytelling—someone who can bring the innocence of first love and the intensity of personal ambition to life. As for actors, I imagine fresh faces who can naturally portray the vulnerability, hope, and determination of Arjun and the other characters. Above all, I would want a team that respects the soul of the story and ensures that the heart of the novel translates beautifully to the screen.

LiFT: Are you working on your next book? If so, could you tell us something about it?

Chaitanya Munganda: Yes, I am working on my next book. While I can’t reveal too much yet, it will continue to explore human emotions and relationships, but in a different setting and from a fresh perspective. Like PREMA KAVYAM, it will focus on life’s challenges, dreams, and the choices that shape us, though the story and characters will take readers on a completely new journey. I hope it will resonate with readers just as deeply, offering both reflection and inspiration.

LiFT: What are your suggestions for budding writers and poets to help them improve their writing skills?

Chaitanya Munganda: For budding writers and poets, my first suggestion is to read widely and deeply—books, poetry, articles—because every story you read teaches you something new about language, structure, and emotion. Second, write regularly, even if it’s just a few lines a day; consistency is more important than perfection. Third, observe life closely—conversations, emotions, struggles, and joys all provide raw material for authentic writing. Finally, don’t be afraid of feedback or rewriting; growth often comes from refining your words and learning from others. Patience, persistence, and curiosity are key.
