LiFT: Tell us about your book, the journey of writing it and its content?

Tanya Gupta: Before beginning to write this book, I wondered about the potential of Agile. Is it limited to IT, or can it revolutionize fields like HR, marketing, manufacturing, and more?

This book offers an insightful analysis of Agile transformation and project management methodologies. I aim to provide readers with valuable knowledge and scenarios to help them implement Agile methodologies in their projects and think outside the box to simplify or improve the traditional approach. The language used throughout the book is simple and accessible, ensuring that everyone can fully engage with the content.

But what sets this book apart? It is not just another theory-heavy read. Instead, it presents practical scenarios and refreshing perspectives on how Agile principles can revolutionize project management in diverse sectors. It paints a vivid picture of how Agile’s transformative power can be put into action. Within its pages, readers will discover practical strategies and insights for achieving success alongside inspiring case studies from a wide range of industries – from construction to cooking and art to aviation.

LiFT: Why you chose this title?

Tanya Gupta: I titled the book “Discovering the Silver Bullet” because it represents the search for effective solutions in complex environments. In project management, professionals often seek the “silver bullet”—a term for a seemingly magical solution to a difficult problem. The title suggests an exploration and discovery journey, emphasizing that while there may not be a one-size-fits-all solution, there are powerful, adaptable methods and principles that can significantly improve project outcomes. By framing the book this way, it invites readers to embark on a quest for knowledge and practical strategies, making Agile and other methodologies more understandable and highlighting their applicability across various industries and challenges.

LiFT: When did you realize that you want to be a writer and what’s your inspiration behind it?

Tanya Gupta: I’ll never forget the day I picked up my first Agatha Christie book in 5th grade. It was like a light bulb went off in my head, and I knew I wanted to be a writer right then and there. From that moment on, I threw myself into crafting short stories, poems, and essays, with unwavering enthusiasm. And now, as I look back, I may not have become a thrilling novelist, but I have achieved my dream of becoming an author with the publication of an academic book. Life definitely takes unexpected but exciting turns!

LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?

Tanya Gupta: In the next ten years, I see myself writing insightful essays and thought-provoking articles for well-known literary journals and magazines, initiating discussions on current issues. I also intend to guide new writers, sharing my experiences and helping them discover their unique voices. Furthermore, I want to participate in literary festivals and panels, connecting with a community of writers and readers who motivate and push me to grow. Ultimately, I hope to make a lasting impact on the literary world, one that reflects my love for storytelling and my dedication to exploring the human experience through writing.

LiFT: What is the message you want to spread among folks with your writings?

Tanya Gupta: We all begin with little or no experience. Those who have been around the block have plenty of stories to share – some may sound daunting, while others are heartwarming. It’s great to listen to these stories, but remember, they won’t necessarily be your story. Trust your instincts, make informed decisions, and carve your unique path. Be confident that you can create your own success story that stands out from the rest!

LiFT: What are the activities you resort to when you face a writer’s block?

Tanya Gupta: When writer’s block strikes, I see it as an opportunity to embark on a thrilling mental journey to reignite my creativity. I love to immerse myself in nature and take a brisk walk, letting the beauty and serenity of the outdoors spark new ideas within me. Reading also plays a pivotal role in my creative process. I find that delving into a book or article from a different genre helps me to gain fresh perspectives and fosters new inspiration. Music is another powerful tool in my arsenal; listening to an uplifting playlist has a magical way of dismantling my creative barriers. Moreover, I find that freewriting is an incredibly liberating exercise. By jotting down anything that comes to mind without constraint, I often discover hidden gems of inspiration. These activities not only rejuvenate my mind but also infuse it with renewed energy and a plethora of new ideas, empowering me to return to my writing with invigorated zeal and enthusiasm.

Tanya Gupta: Yes, I am currently working on my next book. I am collaborating with individuals from around the world who are excelling in their fields but are not widely recognized. I aim to showcase these hidden gems in my upcoming book.
