LiFT: Tell us about your book, the journey of writing it and its content.

Rinav: Book writing for me was a roller coaster ride for me. In the beginning, I was crystal clear about the storyline and the outline. I started writing. However, in mid-way, my father got a heart attack; and he was admitted for bypass surgery. I was distracted for a month; nonetheless, I got back on my way after a month and continue writing. Later after 15 days, my mother was admitted into the hospital for back pain. Again I was a bit distracted. And on top of that my younger brother passed away due to a heart attack. I was broken. But I never quit writing this book and got back towards the storyline. Although having these many distractions, my book is up to the line which I decided in the beginning. So, the journey was kind of a roller coaster ride.

LiFT: Why you chose this title?

Rinav: I chose this title because the storyline is completely suitable for it. The hero of the story struggles and tries to maintain his relationship; however, he failed to maintain it. And in the end, he lost his life. Thus, the heartbeats are no more! and the relationship is based on heartbeats. So the title is Relationship status is no more!

LiFT: When did you realize that you want to be a writer and what’s your inspiration behind it?

Rinav: I realized to be a writer and poet when I was in 11th class. I vividly remember that it was monsoon season and it was the first rain of the season. I wrote a poem on it and everyone, my friends, family, teachers appreciated it. They motivated me to write more and my journey of being a writer started.

LiFT: How much do you think marketing or quality of a book is necessary to promote a particular book and increase its readers?

Rinav: I think the quality of a book surpasses the marketing. If the book is good enough to read, the readers would definitely read it. I mean fragrance always attracts honey bees. Although marketing is one of the key elements, quality is more important.

LiFT: What is the message you want to spread among folks with your writings?

Rinav: Just one message: The world is very beautiful, enjoy its fullest!

LiFT: What do you do apart from writing?

Rinav: I am a trainer for soft skills and English proficiency tests. I am also into music and I frequently compose songs.

LiFT: What are the activities you resort to when you face a writer’s block?

Rinav: When I face writer’s block, I try resorting to my acrobatic experiences. Also, I like reading books and try avoiding distractions.

LiFT: What if your story will be adopted as a movie? Whom would you want to work as a director or actors in it?

Rinav: Director: Anurag Kashyap, Actor: R Madhvan, and Actress: Disha Patani.

LiFT: Are you working on your next book? If yes, please tell us something about it.

Rinav: No. I am looking for a good plot to develop.

LiFT: What are your suggestions to the budding writers/poets so that they could improve their writing skills?
