About Rhythm Ghai:
Rhythm Ghai, 12 years old from Gurugram, is a young and aspiring author. She started her journey of writing stories at the age of 6 years and her first fiction book got published at the age of 9 years. She loves to write fiction stories about fantasy, adventure, magic and mystery. She also likes to write poems and 2 of her poem books also got published. She has future goals of conducting sessions to inspire others about exploring reading as a must habit to live a happy life and to help pen down their thoughts in the way of stories.
LiFT: Tell us about your book, the journey of writing it and its content.
Rhythm: This book is very near to my heart as it is the story of friendship, relationships and family along with my favorite genre, Fantasy and Other World Fictions. I am always fascinated with stories of other world, time travel basically science fiction. This story started with small idea but as it progressed, I added many characters in this story and bit of mystery too. So, this book is science fiction story with relationships, friends in focus.
LiFT: Why you chose this title?
Rhythm: Title is the lifeline of a story and this title, Aura Of Gold, just truly justifies this story. This explains the whole story in best possible way.
LiFT: When did you realize that you want to be a writer and what’s your inspiration behind it?
Rhythm: As far as I can remember, I have always been inclined towards reading books, a lot of books. My parents have always encourged to read as much as I like. I started writing short stories from the age of 5 for my own journal as my hobby which turned into writing books. I wrote my first book at the age of 8 years which got published when I was 9 years. Since then there is no looking back. At present, I have 4 fiction books and 2 poetry books published.
LiFT: Where do you see yourself ten years down the line in the world of literature?
Rhythm: I am an emerging author and poet, down the line in 10 years I wish and aspire to see myself as an inspiring author to young generation. I wish to inspire young generation for inculcating reading as their hobby and as a habit of lifetime.
LiFT: How much do you think marketing or quality of a book is necessary to promote a particular book and increase its readers?
Rhythm: I believe that Quality of Content is the major part and very necessary for any book to bring reader’s attention however marketing of book is equally important.
LiFT: What is the message you want to spread among folks with your writings?
Rhythm: We all have unique place of ours in this world and if we believe in ourself we can face any difficulty or challenge with greater strength is the message I want to spread to all my readers.
LiFT: What do you do apart from writing?
Rhythm: Apart from writing, I am a professional visual artist. My drawings are placed at various national and international exhibitions. Being an artist gives me a edge of being a writer as I myself design and illustrate my book’s cover page and all inside illustrations.
LiFT: What are the activities you resort to when you face a writer’s block?
Rhythm: Writer’s block is common and everybody have their own ways to deal with. I generally make short noted or sketch or doodle my characters which helps me regain my original idea about new story.
LiFT: Are you working on your next book? If yes, please tell us something about it.
Rhythm: Yes! I am working on my next book which is a tale of friends who are on the mission, their obstacles, relationships, their adventurous journey from this world to another world and beyond.
LiFT: What are your suggestions to the budding writers/poets so that they could improve their writing skills?
Rhythm: Keep reading, keep getting inspired to write your heart out in the form of short or long stories, poems, books.
